BMW XM Concept

BMW shared pictures of their latest concept SUV, the XM. It looks very different from the current BMW suv lineup. The Gearshift and the idrive controller looks familiar but everything else is a complete redesign.  The outside grille is much larger than any other BMW grille we have seen before and that's not a good thing. The rear is too revolutionary. However this doesn't mean the new BMW suv is going to look exactly like this, but we will see certain design cues that derive from the BMW XM concept. BMW has always delivered  the Ultimate driving Machine and we expect their next generation of vehicles to be nothing short of it.

2023 Subaru Solterra - Subaru's first ever EV.

Subaru, just announced their first ever electric SUV, Subaru Solterra for the 2023 model year. Expected go on sale in mid 2022, the Solterra has a range of 220 miles on a single charge.  Subaru has always been a reliable family brand. The fact that Solterra's EV powertrain comes from Toyota means reliability will not be an issue.  Subaru is definitely leveraging their partnership with Toyota which is evident when you look at the Solterra which has body panels similar to the RAV4. But the Solterra has It's own unique styling.  It would be exciting to see the 2023 Solterra on the road near future.

Ford Bronco Sport Recalls

Ford Bronco Sport has been grabbing the attention of many over the past few months.  However despite the poplarity, Ford has had several recalls on this model.  Having 5 recalls within the first few months is never a good indication. This time the recall is to address an issue with the Moonroof, which has a risk of detaching.  Unfortunately recalls are a common issue with Ford vehicles. Recently the Ford's Mach-E suffered a similar fate that led to a large recall campaign.  At least for the Bronco we hope this qould be the last recall for the year.

Hertz Buying 100,000 Tesla Model 3s

Starting next month customers that use Hertz rental cars will have the option to rent one of the 100,000 Tesla Model 3s, the company has bought from Tesla. This is one of the largest EV purchases made by a US Car rental company and making 20% of Hertz's fleet EVs.  While most of the Europe has transitioned to EVs, US buyers are having trouble with letting go of their love for the gasoline engine. One of the reasons is the lack of charging stations as you travel further away from major cities. The Volkwagen's Electrify America program is working to address this issue but still it may take a few years. This move from Hertz is a great step towards transitioning the customers to EVs. This gives customers the opportunity to try out EVs before purchasing one.  Also there is another benefit, anyone who rents a Tesla from Hertz between now and February 2022 will have access to Tesla's charging stations at no cost. So this holiday season you can save on gas cost if you are planning
